ONLINE PROGRAM

The Illinois Institute of Art offers online courses in general education and design. These courses are offered through The Art Institutes Online, a division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and taught by faculty from across the system of Art Institutes. Credits and grades earned for the online courses are accepted toward ILIC degree requirements and count towards the CGPA.

The online program enhances the student's academic experience by eliminating the restrictions of time and geographic location. It also offers many more advantages:

Completion of more classes within each quarter:
  1. Online classes last only 5 and ½ weeks each.
  2. Two classes can be completed within the same time it takes to complete one class on ground.

Flexible classes:

  1. Asynchronous class scheduling – students can participate in classes 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  2. All course requirements are available online including orientation, discussion groups, and contact with faculty, assignments, and critiques.

Online resources and support:

  1. Online library, bookstore, computer store, software store, resource library, tutorials, and technology support are available to students taking online classes.
  2. On campus support available through the Online Advocate. The online advocate serves as the liaison for those students who are not physically present on the campus.
